Privacy Policy

Effective date: 4 July 2026 · Applies to safarcheck.com

SafarCheck ("we", "us") operates safarcheck.com. This policy explains what information the site handles, what it never handles, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.

The short version

1. Information you give us

The only personal information we receive directly is what you choose to send by email: your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to act on corrections. We do not add you to mailing lists, and we do not share correction emails with anyone.

2. Information stored on your device (localStorage)

Two features remember things between visits: the bag checker remembers your unit choice (cm or inches), and the Umrah packing list remembers which items you ticked. Both use your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device, never reaches our servers, and disappears if you clear your browser data or press the list's reset button.

3. Information collected automatically

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data needed to serve the site: IP address, browser type, requested pages and timestamps. We see this as aggregate statistics (for example, visits per page) rather than as profiles of individual people. Cloudflare's own privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

The site loads the Inter and Poppins typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests those font files from Google's servers, which involves your IP address. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Cookies and advertising

Today the site sets no advertising cookies. We plan to show advertising through Google AdSense to keep the site free, and when those ads go live the following applies:

If we add an analytics tool in future, this policy will be updated before it goes live, with the tool named here.

5. Affiliate links

Some pages may recommend products, such as cabin bags that fit a specific airline's limit, through affiliate links. Clicking such a link takes you to the seller's site (for example, Amazon), whose own cookies and privacy policy then apply. We receive a commission on qualifying purchases and no information about you beyond anonymous purchase reporting.

6. What we never do

7. Children

The site is a general-audience travel reference and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. In practice the only personal data we hold is email correspondence, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time by writing to [email protected]. We answer such requests within 30 days.

9. Data security and retention

The site is served entirely over HTTPS. We keep correction emails for as long as they document a data decision, and delete other correspondence when it is no longer needed.

10. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes, such as adding an analytics tool or launching advertising, will be reflected here before they take effect.
